Aviation Healthcare Providers Course (AHCPC)
The
AHCPC is intended for Advanced Life Support providers (i.e. doctors, registered
nurses and paramedic’s) whose responsibility, or purpose it may be to transport
sick and injured patients by air ambulance (rotary or fixed wing) or by commercial
airline.
Prior to undergoing the Aviation Healthcare Providers training, attaining background
knowledge and understanding is necessary. The
Aviation Healthcare Providers Course
is presented on the basis that pre-course reading is essential.
The program is carefully weighted between didactic lectures, case studies and practical
patient simulations consisting of pre- and in-flight assessment and treatment scenario’s
involving adult, peadiatric, infant and neonatal patients.
Visits to certain strategic Aviation Medicine and Patient Transport Service role-player’s
and Commercial Airline operators facilities are also undertaken during the Aviation
Healthcare Providers courses with the aim of exposing all delegates to as much as
possible from a practical perspective.
